Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane S.p.A. has published today its eighth Green Bond Report.
The report provides an update on the allocation of the proceeds raised through the green bonds issued by the Group and on the environmental impacts associated with the financed projects, in line with the ICMA principles and with the provisions of its Green Bond Framework.
The report discloses the allocation of the proceeds of the green bonds issued under the EMTN Programme up to Series 25, for a total amount of 5.75 billion euro, as well as the positive impacts generated by the financed investments in terms of environmental sustainability.
The results of the report highlight the positive effects of the financed projects -based on the methodologies used- both in terms of energy savings and reduction of CO2 emissions, thanks to the investments of Trenitalia, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, FS International and Mercitalia Rail.
The report also includes information supporting the assessment of the financed projects’ alignment with the European Taxonomy.
The report obtained a third-party opinion from PwC, which validated the calculation methodologies adopted by FS for impact reporting and certified the correct allocation of the proceeds of the bonds to the Eligible Green Projects as defined by FS’s 2022 Green Bond Framework.
The Green Bond Report and the related Opinion are available on the FS Group’s website, in the Investor Relations section.
